1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Stake Squad ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Stake Squad ("we," "us," or "our").

2. Description of Service

Stake Squad is a mobile application that provides:

• Habit Tracking: Tools to create, track, and maintain habits
• Squads: Social accountability groups for shared habit goals
• Money Stakes: Optional financial accountability through payment contracts
• Check-ins: Daily tracking with optional photo verification
• Notifications: Reminders and squad activity updates
• Accountability Features: Forfeit mechanisms including SMS notifications to accountability buddies

3. Eligibility

Age Requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to use Stake Squad. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian.

Money Stakes Age Restriction: You must be at least 18 years old to create money stake contracts. Age verification is required before creating your first money stake.

Account Creation

• You must provide accurate and complete information
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
• You are responsible for all activities under your account
• You must not share your account credentials

4. User Accounts

Account Security

• Choose a strong, unique password
• Do not share your password with others
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• We are not liable for losses due to stolen or compromised credentials

Account Termination

• You may delete your account at any time from Settings
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
• Upon termination, most data is deleted within 30 days

5. Money Stakes & Payment Terms

Stake Contracts

• Optional Feature: Money stakes are completely optional
• Contract Duration: Stakes are time-bound (start date to end date)
• Payment Processing: All payments processed securely through Stripe
• Amounts: Stake amounts range from $10 to $500 USD/GBP
• Target Rates: You set a completion rate (70%-100%) to earn your refund

Refund Policy

• Earned Refunds: If you meet or exceed your target completion rate, you receive a full refund
• Forfeited Stakes: If you fail to meet your target, the stake is forfeited (non-refundable)
• Processing Time: Refunds processed within 5-7 business days after contract evaluation

Cancellations

• Before Start Date: Full refund if contract hasn't started
• After Start Date: No cancellations or refunds (contract is active)
• Special Circumstances: Contact us for exceptions (illness, emergencies)

6. User Content

You retain ownership of content you create (habit data, photos, comments). By posting content, you grant us a license to store, display, and share it with your squad members.

Content Guidelines

You agree NOT to post content that:

• Violates laws or regulations
• Infringes intellectual property rights
• Contains hate speech, harassment, or threats
• Includes sexually explicit or inappropriate material
• Promotes violence or illegal activities

7. Squad Features

• You may join multiple squads
• Public squads are discoverable; Private squads require invite codes
• Check-ins in squads are visible to all squad members
• Be respectful and supportive; do not spam or harass others

8. Accountability Features

SMS Notifications

• You may designate an "accountability buddy" to receive SMS notifications
• Consent Required: You must have consent from the buddy to send SMS to their number
• SMS features may be subject to carrier fees (your responsibility)
